BYU faculty, students, and staff now have access to a free New York Times subscription through the BYU Library.
The initial setup takes a few minutes, but then your account is good for years.
How to Subscribe to the New York Times using your BYU Library account: 10 Easy Steps
- Go to the BYU Library FAQ website. You should see a page that mentions the library’s subscription to The New York Times. Click on the link provided on this page.
- You will be redirected to a new page that asks you to select your school. Type in Brigham Young University and choose the corresponding result.
- After selecting your university, follow the instructions on the page. (Note: The “Go” button will take you to the same page as the on-campus option link.)
- A new page will appear. Select the option to Create Account.
- On the next page, you’ll be asked for your email. Use your work email or your BYU student email for this (don’t select “Continue with work or school single sign-on”).
- After entering your email, create a password, then log in.
- Next, you’ll need to specify whether you are a student or faculty/staff.
- If you are a student, choose your graduation year from the options listed.
- Once you’ve selected your graduation year, click Sign Up.
- That’s it! You should receive a notification when your New York Times pass will expire. To confirm you’re signed up, go to the main page of The New York Times. Click the person icon in the top right corner. Your level of access should be listed there.
